Touristic programs for disadvantaged social categories

• Techirghiol resort takes part in the social program Seaside for everybody.  This social tourism program allows the families with low income to buy holiday and treatment packages at promotional prices.

  h disabilities have the opportunity to take part in different educational programs, but also to make balneary and specialized treatment, as prescribed by the family physician, in the Techirghiol Children Sanatorium.

• For the young participants at the Easy Listening Music for Children Festival “Glasul Sperațelor” (“Promising Voices”), the City Hall of Techirghiol offers a mini-camp for the period of the competition (accomodation, meals and a trip – a tour of the Romanian seaside).
• Retired seniors can buy treatment packages from the County House of Pensions in the area of their domicile.  For these treatment packages, retirees pay half of their pension, and they get accommodation, specialized treatment (procedures recommended by the doctor who makes the medical consultation upon arrival), but also three meals a day. However, for the retirees who could not get a treatment package through the County House of Pensions, the Balnear and Rehabilitation Sanatorium of Techirghiol still offers promotional tariffs, provided they present a referral from the family physician and a pension slip.  

Local Projects

Two original events take place in Techirghiol each year: an International Monastery Products Fair, organized in the same time as the Techirghiol Days, and a flower fair, EXPOFLORA.

EXPOFLORA Flower Fair is organized in May. For three days, people from all over the country who love nature can come and enjoy the flower fair. Flower arrangements, house plants and flowers, outdoor plants and flowers, decorations and dry flower arrangements, seeds, bulbs, seedlings, soil mix for plants, fertilizers, pots, ornaments and decorative accessories, equipments, gardening tools, garden accessories and furniture, these are only a few products from the large array of exhibits.

Moreover, Techirghiol is proud to host the Easy Listening Music for Children Festival “Glasul Sperațelor” (“Promising Voices”).   This festival brings together easy listening lovers from all over the world, with the idea of forming a musical and aesthetic culture for the local public and not only, and also to create the skills needed to appraise beauty and to build respect for the act of creation and for creators.   

Another important cultural project, intended also to attract tourists, is the Theatre Festival “Scena lui Tănase” (Tănase’s Stage). 

Also, there are a lot of free open-air artistic events, offered by the artists of Cultural Center “Constantin Tănase” of Techirghiol.
